The latest Snapchat real-life hardware product is designed as a free-flying sidekick that is pocket-sized and can be a user’s travel companion to record their adventure and travel stories. The Snapchat Pixy drone functionality is similar to the standard drones wherein it can take a flight and hover over your surroundings to record your selfie videos.

The Pixy Selfie drone can take a flight from the palm of your hands and is super easy to operate. The Snapchat pocket selfie drone has four preset flight paths that let you fly it without any prior configuration. It also doesn’t require any controller separately for the flight controls. And when the flight’s complete, it will land at your palms gently.

In its official press release, Snapchat mentioned, “Everything you need to capture the moment from a new perspective is right in the palm of your hand. With the simple tap of a button, Pixy flies in four preset flight paths. Adding on the brand said, “It can float, orbit, and follow wherever you lead, without a controller or any set-up. And, Pixy finds its home in your hand, landing gently at the end of the flight.” 

Snapchat Pixy Drone Imaging, Video Recording Capabilities

Snapchat has not revealed the exact camera specifications used by the Pixy selfie drone. However, the company has revealed that the Pixy drone doesn’t need any specific app to operate. It is compatible with the Snapchat app. Data transfer including the captured still images and videos by the Pixy selfie drone can be transferred wirelessly into the user’s Snapchat app and are saved into Snapchat Memories.

What’s interesting is that you can add further edit the videos and images captured by the Pixy drone using Snapchat’s editing tools. The smart edit feature will let users add effects such as Bunce, Hyperspeed, Jump Cut, and Orbit 3D. Users will also get the option to add depth effects to the videos and images captured by the Pixy drone and then share them with their contacts or add the media to Snapchat stories as well. Users can also share the Pixy content to other social media apps or instant messaging applications.

Snapchat Pixy Drone Price, Availability: Is It Coming To India?

The Snapchat Pixy Drone is launched in the US and France at $299.99. The pocket-sized selfie drone has already gone up for sale in these two markets. The Snapchat Pixy selfie drone’s availability is limited in just these two countries until the stock lasts. The company has not revealed its plans to launch the pocket selfie drone in India and other markets.

But Snapchat is gradually spreading its ventures in the accessories market with self-developed hardware devices.
