In addition, the South Korean giant is likely to focus on high-end devices and once the batch of feature phones will be manufactured the smartphone company will manufacture and launch above Rs. 15,000 devices, according to a new report in ET.

The report said that the company already had a word with channel partners and now it will leave or exit the market by the end of this year. Notably, this development comes at a time when Counterpoint research suggested that the feature phone market has declined to 39 percent year-on-year due to supply chain issues and less consumer demand.

Feature Phone Market Share Details

“The feature phone market registered a decline of 39% YoY. Supply issues, high inventory levels, and softening of consumer demand due to high inflation were the major reasons for this decline. itel led the feature phone market in Q1 2022 with a 21 percent share. itel has been the top feature phone brand for nine consecutive quarters,” the report said.

The report also claims that Samsung‘s share has declined by one percent in Q1 of the ongoing year. But still, it is the top-selling 5G smartphone firm in the country. This is the second time in a row.

“The company also maintained a lead in the affordable premium segment between Rs 30,000 and Rs 45,000,” the report by Counterpoint Research said. Adding to that, “The launch of its latest S22 series and revamping of the A-series and M series across price tiers towards the quarter-end drove Samsung’s shipments.”

The report also added that despite the increase in prices all telecom operators are expected to add 30 to 40 million new users in the ongoing financial year. In addition, the report in the ET claims that India’s third-largest telecom operator has not lost customers despite increasing prices in the last November and December last year.

It is important to note that Bharti Airtel MD and CEO for India and South Asia Gopal Vittal states that Airtel will go increase tariff prices in 2022.

“I do expect a tariff hike sometime in 2022. I don’t think it’s going to happen in the next 3-4 months because the SIM consolidation and growth needs to come back but I do expect another round of tariff increase,” Vittal said during the earnings call of the company.

Similarly, Vodafone Idea MD and CEO Ravinder Takkar has also said the same earlier during the company’s earnings call. “We would expect that it’s possible that there could be another price hike in 2022 but certainly at some point the price hike will take place,” he had said. For the unaware, Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Vodafone-Idea hiked their tariffs prices last year from November to December.

Google Pixel Foldable Phone Reportedly Delayed To 2023

Key Highlights

  • Google Pixel delayed to 2023.
  • It will reportedly cost lesser than Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3.
  • The phone is said to have refresh rate up to 120Hz.

Google has reportedly postponed the debut of its first foldable smartphone, the Pixel Notepad, until 2023. According to a report by SamMobile, the Google Pixel Notepad Foldable phone will now be released in the spring of next year. The device has been postponed for the second time. It was originally scheduled to debut in 2021 but was pushed back to a late 2022 launch.

Google Pixel Foldable Phone Specifications

There have been many speculations around Google’s Pixel Fold. This is expected to be Google’s first ever foldable phone offering in its international markets. The Pixel Fold is expected to carry the same size as the Galaxy Z Fold 3. It is speculated to have LTPO and variable refresh rate up to 120Hz. The company recently announced a version of Android 12 – Android 12L – optimised for foldables, tablets and Chrome OS devices.

According to reports, the Google Pixel phone with a folding scenario is expected to get a 7.6-inch display, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold. While no news on what type of folding technology the foldable Pixel will use has been confirmed, rumors say it can be folded vertically. The report also suggests that the phone will feature Samsung OLED panels.

If earlier reports are to be believed, the foldable Pixel will be unveiled by the end of the year. It will get released most likely during this year’s ‘Made by Google’ event with the next-generation Pixel 5a or Pixel 6.

However, other information about the foldable Pixel phone is yet unknown. According to previous leaks, the device’s codename is ‘Passport.’ Given Google’s recent preference for mid-range smartphones, there’s a chance the foldable Pixel phone will feature mid-range specs but a hefty price tag, considering the pricing scheme of foldable devices we’ve seen recently.

Google Pixel Foldable Phone Price

The biggest competitor of the upcoming Google Pixel Fold is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 which costs $1,799. The Pixel Fold can often be found for less, especially with trade-in. Although multiple reports have claimed that Google is aiming for a cheaper price, somewhere around $1,400. However, we have no official reports regarding its price segment.

iPhone 14 Might Burn A Hole In Your Pockets: Here’s Why

Apple will be bringing the iPhone 14 series this year. The lineup is expected to come with four different variants, i.e., the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The series has been a part of rumor mill since a while. Now, a new leak suggests that the iPhone 14’s front camera will get a significant improvement.

As per a report by ET News, Apple might ditch its Chinese supplier for front cameras and could switch to a South Korean supplier. The tech giant has classified the iPhone 14‘s front camera as high-end. Reportedly, the company is using the products of LG Innotek to cater to the advanced needs of the new iPhone. This will be the first time a South Korean company has produced Apple’s selfie cameras.

Apple originally planned to make this shift with the iPhone 15 series. However, the company has decided to prepone this process by making them one of the key suppliers for iPhone 14 series. AutoFocus will be available on the front camera now that the new selfie camera maker is on board.

Since Apple became a Korean manufacturer, the upgrade is said to cost three times the original amount. Currently, there’s no clarity on what the price of the iPhone 14 will be or how much costlier it will be when compared to the iPhone 13.

iPhone 14 Specifications (Expected)

In the iPhone 14 series, the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max are said to come with a punch-hole display instead of a notch. Both the devices will come with Apple’s next A16 Bionic chip. On the other hand, the vanilla iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max are expected to come with an improved version of Apple A15 Bionic chipset.

iPhone 14 Series Launch Date

Apple hasn’t revealed details about the launch of the iPhone 14 series. However, recent reports suggest it could be launched in the second week of September. The Cupertino-based tech company is presently preparing for WWDC 2022, its annual developer’s conference, which will take place next month. We expect Apple to introduce its new product lineup during this event. We will keep you posted with the details. So, stay tuned with us.

Samsung Galaxy M13 5G Official Looking Renders Leaves A Little To Imagination; What Else Do We Expect?

Samsung has been strengthening its portfolio in the affordable 5G smartphone market. The South Korean tech giant’s Galaxy A and the Galaxy M series are currently feeding the market requirements of pocket-friendly 5G Android phones. One of the upcoming offerings which Samsung is working on is the Galaxy M13 5G. The next Galaxy M series phone will be announced sometime soon as hinted by several mobile certification websites. The device is also going official in India as it recently got certified via BIS (Bureau Of Indian Standards). Now, a new leak has surfaced that reveals the entire Galaxy A13 5G’s design language and the expected color options.

Samsung Galaxy M13 5G Renders Show Full Design

Tipster Evan Blass has leaked the Samsung Galaxy M13 5G’s renders in full glory. Going by the leaked images, the Galaxy M13 5G will feature a traditional waterdrop notch display design instead of a modern punch-hole camera cutout. The front panel can be seen with a thin side and top bezel, while the chin bezel is slightly thick compared to the rest of the corners.

The front panel’s design is standard. We have seen several Samsung Galaxy A and Galaxy M series phones with this design language. In fact, the placement of keys and ports are not much different. The Galaxy M13 5G’s right panel is packed with the volume and the power keys. The render images also confirm a side-mounted fingerprint scanner that is embedded within the power key.

Moving on to the Galaxy M13 5G’s back panel, the handset is seen with a single-tone finish. A vertical camera module is positioned in the top-left corner. The Galaxy M13 5G budget Android phone will be announced in three color options. The color variants shown in the render images are peach, white, and dark screen.

Samsung Galaxy M13 5G Rumored Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy M13 5G leaks have tipped an IPS LCD screen that will measure 6.5-inches. The display will support a standard 720p HD+ screen resolution. The refresh rate is not specified by the leaks. Therefore, it would be hard to guess if the panel will support a standard 60Hz or a high 90/120Hz refresh rate.

The chipset driving the Galaxy A13 5G is also not known at the moment. We are waiting for the leaks to confirm if it’d be a MediaTek or Qualcomm processor. The triple rear camera module at the back is rumored to feature a 50MP main sensor combined with a 2MP depth lens. The battery capacity is also not known but we might get to see 15W fast charging.
