  • The app brings a bunch of new features
  • Hidden media, new drawing tools, and more are some of its new features

Telegram revealed numerous new app features in its final release for 2022. The app’s features are now available to users. Hidden Media

The ability to cover photos and videos with a shimmering layer that blurs the image is now available in Telegram, which previously offered spoiler formatting to hide any text in messages. Your recipients only need to tap once to end the spell and view the content.

Zero Storage Usage

Telegram scarcely takes up any space on your device, and users can always download files and documents again from the Telegram cloud instead of keeping them on their phone’s storage. Users can now add unique auto-remove settings for cached media from Private Chats, Groups, and Channels, with some exceptions for particular chats, thanks to a recent upgrade.

New Text and Drawing Tools

The already powerful media editor has undergone a complete overhaul. Sensitive data will be redacted with a new blur tool. The user can also alter the font, size, and backdrop of the text, and they have access to five highly precise color selection options.

Contact Profile Picture

Users can change the contact profile pictures that are hidden from other people when editing their contacts. All the more, one can suggest a picture suggestion for their contact’s profile. It will take the contact just two taps to add it to their profile.

Public Profile Pictures

One can restrict who can see their profile image while allowing everyone else to see it. The visibility can be set to “Nobody,” with a few individuals or groups added as exceptions.

Hiding Group Members

The robust anti-spam option in Telegram’s most recent upgrade includes tools to help chat admins maintain large groups spam-free, although some can prefer to shield their users from unwanted personal messages. Group administrators who have more than 100 members can now opt to hide the member list.

New Progress Animations on Android

Users of Telegram Premium will receive ten new sets of uniquely animated emojis as a gift from Telegram creators. These new features can be found under the Stickers sticker panel’s Emoji tab.

Key Highlights

  • Services of many companies such as Google, Facebook, and Apple have been discontinued this year
  • iPod Touch, Internet Explorer, and more are some of the products that we said goodbye to in 2022
  • Some of these tech products and services have ruled for over a decade

As the year comes to an end, some features and apps also did. This year, numerous services from companies including Google, Facebook, Apple, and others came to an end. The list covers tech services that were considered enormous bets when they were first introduced and products that dominated for more than a decade. Here are some of the tech services and gadgets that became obsolete this year.

Microsoft Internet Explorer

Microsoft Internet Explorer has been discontinued after 25 years. The company clarified, “However, both browsers and the web have advanced. We began from scratch since incremental changes to Internet Explorer couldn’t keep up with changes made to the web as a whole. The best browser for Windows is Microsoft Edge, a quicker, more secure, and contemporary browser.”

YouTube Go App

In August of this year, YouTube Go got discontinued. The app was first launched in 2016. It offered nearby sharing and offline viewing. YouTube Go contained a number of features geared toward data costs, weak signal reception, and the pervasive use of SD cards on Android devices, similar to other apps created for emerging markets.

iPod Touch

It was first introduced 20 years ago and was a well-liked option at the time. However, Apple stated in May 2022 that the iPhone-iPod hybrid device will no longer be sold as all of its stock had been used up. The iPod product line has come to an end as a result.

Apple iCloud Documents and Data Service

Apple iCloud Documents and Data Service was first released in 2014. It was a system that automatically synced data from numerous apps and made it accessible on a variety of devices. The company claims that iCloud Drive “allows you to easily save, view, and share files with friends and family.” It has now been discontinued. You can view the documents you store in iCloud Drive on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or PC, and they are updated across all of your devices.

Instagram IGTV, Hyperlapse, and Boomerang

The company stated in a blog post that the goal of stopping IGTV is to simplify the application’s video platform as much as feasible. Both the 2015-launched Boomerang and the 2014-launched Hyperlapse were also pulled out.
