What Is Karnataka Gruha Jyothi Scheme?

The Gruha Jyothi Scheme aims to provide affordable electricity to the citizens of Karnataka. It also seeks to raise awareness about energy conservation and encourage the use of renewable energy sources.

Benefits And Registration

Under the scheme, every household in Karnataka is eligible to receive 200 units of free electricity. According to reports, beneficiaries must apply for the Gruha Jyothi Scheme before July 5 in order to begin receiving subsidies in August. The online application process for the scheme opened on June 18. The response has been overwhelming, with over 8 lakh households already registering for the scheme as of June 20. The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited has recorded a total of 8.16 lakh registered consumers.

To apply for the scheme, applicants need to provide the following documents:

  2. Proof of address: Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, Ration Card, or rent agreement

  5. Proof of property ownership: sale deed or property tax receipt
  6. Consent letter for tenants

Step 2: Look for the registration section dedicated to the Gruha Jyothi Scheme.
